My kitty658999
41...she typed that number part with her feet. She really likes to watch the movement of the text forming and the cursor. Occasionally, in spite of being a very composed and well mannered kitten...she can't resist trying to stand on the keyboard and catch it.

She also was stalking my taco.

Now she has my bracelet.

She saw her reflection in my glasses and very gently took them off my face and had a closer look.

Now she is listening to the thunder and trying to be brave.
She would feel brave by picking on the really big dog...my Mom's chihuahua. But the dog says "screw it" at about 10 PM and goes to bed.
So she only has me to play with.
It is our late night routine and we like it. She has been a joy and a comfort to me.
What wonderful gifts I receive.

Becca had a play date today...something in me ...doesn't care for that term.
When I have a ...play date...well...anyway. I don't plan on anything of that sort for a while.
She learned to ride a scooter...in the street. And I didn't even freak out a tiny bit. It is the "in the street" part that would have worried me before.
She has been wanting a scooter. Today she realized she had a gift card from Target that she has had since her birthday in April.( I think she forgot she had it.) She asked to use it towards a scooter and I was very happy. I told her when she asked for one that she would need to find a way to obtain a scooter herself...save her money, win one, get one second hand...whatever. Not because I'm mean...but because I think it is good for her.
She did it.

Ah...other good stuff. We have been spending as much time as possible exploring the parks of our little city.

We all needed more activity.
They had gained some weight and I have lost over 30 pounds and need some muscle.
( and yes, I'm eating and staying hydrated.)

It sounds like you're all enjoying all the little things that make life worthwhile! That's VERY important as once you can truly appreciate the little thing around you, you'll always find a reason to be happy.

Parks rule, especially when they're explored on scooter. I suspect that within a year you'll find yourself on a bicycle - my son's scooter rekindled my love affair with biking, it was too difficult to keep up with him on foot.

:)

Yeah...I'm thinking about it anyway. This town...more a suburb of Columbus but a city in it's own right, is set up for bicyclists. Lots of trails, lots of parks, many streets have a bike lane. Since it is no more than 5 miles to anywhere I want to go. I might resume riding a bike places.

So if you meet me Have some courtesy Have some sympathy, and some taste Use all your well-learned politesse Or Ill lay your soul to waste, um yeah

A day without sunshine is like....night.
Bikes are going to be a LOT more popular soon . Just think the gas prices might actually solve our obeseity problems.

The hell with a bike...I want a scooter too...Becca got hers to day and it's fun.
I need one with a basket for groceries.

Make sure to get Becky a helmet too - the new scooters ARE fun, but on a good hill can become very scary!

Yes...I was thinking a helmet would be good.

At LEAST a helmet - my wife is a nurse and was aware of the rise in injuries after the Razor scooters became popular: [link]

:bulletred:Supplies:

-color pencils:
koh-i-noor [link] ( You have never used a color pencil like this...rich colors and very soft, but without the waxiness found in prismacolors...prismacolors layer over the koh-i-noor pencils beautifully.)
-prismacolor [link] ( regular) and [link] ( verithins for details) and [link] ( watercolor pencils) Prismacolors are the "industry standard, and I own all three of the varieties listed...they have their drawbacks, but have a huge range of colors. The colored pencils are very waxy.

-Watercolor:
Maimeri Blu ( beautiful color...and you only need three plus the nuetral tint, although I have sepia too)
[link]

-Papers:
Stonhenge for colored pencil. This is the best paper in the universe! [link] more luxurious than eating truffles in a bubble bath.

Watercolor
I prefer blocks;specifically Arches Aquarelle Hot Press [link]
That was why the greeting cards I found today surprised me...I usually am not a fan of any but hot press.
I have tried the watercolor canvas.
It isn't very nice at all...slippery...like painting on plastic.

I found these today for card making! [link]
I very much enjoyed the paper, but color doesnt lift well from it...buckling was minimal without stretching.

I recently was sent some Yupo by a kind soul here on DA Every watercolor artist should try it.

I want to try but have not
Dick Blick watercolor paper made by Fabriano

Good luck to you and may your endeavors be fruitful ones. ( I always wanted a reason to say "fruitful" :giggle: )
